It was August and we were in Brasília. No – that is not a fancy way of saying Brazil – Brasília is a weird and wonderful place that was constructed out of thin air in the 50s to be Brazil’s capital. We had the pleasure of going there for Festival CoMA – a festival that prioritizes community, creativity and bringing together industry leaders in Brazil. Through CoMA we were able to meet the incredible band, Far From Alaska, who graced us with their music and presence at 10am on the Monday after the end of the festival. It’s typical for singers to find mornings tough – especially after a very full festival weekend – but Emily Barreto nailed every note without even giving it a second thought. Check out this powerful acoustic version of “Cobra” brought to you from the courtyard of Cervejaria Criolina.
